Caption: Attorney Boyce Holleman portrays Mark Twain
Attorney Boyce Holleman likes Mark Twain -- maybe because they share some
common characteristics: dry wit, intelligence, glib tongue. They make a nice match.
``I like the man,'' Holleman said. ``I keep a lot of his works. ... I like him because he
was really a patriot.''
Holleman has portrayed the author for six years and has been doing theater and
films for 22 years.
He will perform ``An Evening with Mark Twain'' at 7 p.m. Friday at the Jeff Davis
Campus auditorium of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
The 45-minute performance, Holleman said, is simply portraying Twain talking about
himself -- ``about his humor and philosophy.''
John B. ``Shorty'' Sneed, himself a veteran Coast actor, will act as master of
ceremonies and offer an opening monologue.
Proceeds will benefit the Harrison Central High School band.
Tickets are $13 for general seating and $15 for reserved seating. Tickets are
available at the Gulfport office of Page, Mannino, Peresich, Dickinson, McDermott,
Newton and Hoff, Suite 600 in the Markham Building; on the Jefferson Davis
Campus, Building L, Room 202; and at the Harrison Central High School office.
